Health Kits to go to Southeast Asia

Over the past three weeks, Lititz Church of the Brethren has been collecting health kits to help relieve some of the needs experienced by those in Southeast Asia affected by the tsunami devastation.  Assembling and contributing the kits were many individuals and families from the church and community, as well as a local fifth grade elementary school class, families from the church’s Toddler Gym program and the Friends Club from the Wednesday Nights ALIVE program.  According to Jennie Reist, who helped to coordinate the collection, “It was a real effort of many individuals and groups, coming together to make a difference in the lives of so many who lost everything.”  Reist will deliver the kits this week to the Church World Service warehouse in New Windsor, Maryland, where they will be shipped overseas.

Over 170 health kits were collected, as well as 9 clean-up buckets for domestic relief and over $4200 was raised as well.  Many thanks to all who contributed.
