The Lititz Church of the Brethren is pleased to share
that Kenneth Trovinger was called as Director of Worship Ministries to
work on the contemporary worship service that begins on Sunday,
September 12, 2004.
As Director of Worship Ministries, Ken is responsible
for planning and coordinating the worship experience at the Contemporary
Worship Service in cooperation with the pastors. These planning and
coordination activities include preparing the order of the service,
selecting the music to be used as part of the service and arranging for
dramas and other parts of the service such as the use of readings and
audio-visuals. Ken will also help lead worship in the contemporary
service.
A second major area of work for Ken as Director of Worship Ministries
will be directing the worship team during rehearsals and as part of the
Sunday morning worship service. There is currently one worship team and
the hope is that through Ken's leadership and recruitment a second
worship team will be formed.
Music has always been a large and essential part of Ken's life. Ken is a
graduate of Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA with a B.M. in
Music Education with a concentration in composition. Ken's experience
includes more than ten years of leading worship and designing worship
services. Ken has served as Music Director at the New Holland United
Methodist Church and he is a member of a semiprofessional music ministry
known as KLS (Know Love Serve).
Ken is a graduate of Manheim Central High School. He and is wife, Tonia,
live in New Holland.
As one learns to know Ken, it is clear his passion for music and his
variety of musical experiences have combined with a developing passion
for ministry. Ken is excited by the opportunity God is providing through
the Lititz Church of the Brethren to be part of the start of a new
contemporary service that will bring people into the presence of God
through worship.
