MEET THE STAFF
Jim Grossnickle-Batterton is the Pastor. Jim's passion for ministry derives from his own spiritual journey. That journey continues to be marked by walking in the Way of Jesus, practicing radical hospitality, and learning to see the Reign of God in the art, community, and world around us. Raised in the Church of the Brethren in the Midwest, he drifted from the church during his “wilderness” years. Upon returning, Jim felt a deep kinship with the misfits, outcasts, seekers, and others genuinely struggling with faith and their understanding of God's work in the world. He spent nearly a decade living and doing ministry in San Antonio, TX at the Catholic Worker House. In the intervening years, Jim graduated from Bethany Theological Seminary, entered ordained congregational pastoral ministry, and consumed hours of science fiction and superhero content. Among the many things he picked up in San Antonio were an abiding appreciation of Tex-Mex cuisine, a conversational fluency in Mennonite, and his partner Stephanie. They are raising their sons Elias and Reid with their own appreciations for rice and beans, superheroes, and big imaginations.
